Intern, TCAT R&D
Position Overview
R&D Intern (TCAT) The R&D Intern will assist in supporting design and development of medical device products through project work focused on verifying specifications, designs, fixtures, testing, and/or equipment and helping to ensure the products meet their requirements. Typical job duties might include:
- R&D project involvement
- Device design and process development
- Device testing and method development
- Data analysis and test report write-ups
- Required Qualifications
- Working toward a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Biomedical Engineering or other related discipline.
- Creative, inquisitive and demonstrates a strong desire to “build” and “create” (i.e. robotics, mechanical repair, construction).
- Demonstrated experience reading & preparing technical documentation.
- Computer experience and skills including MS Word, Excel and CAD.
- Strong analytical capability and organization skills
- Coursework in 2-D/3-D drawings and statistics
- Knowledge of SolidWorks
- Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and autonomously.
- Knowledge of medical device materials and processes: adhesives, plastics/polymers, metals, laser-welding, laser-cutting, braiding, and lamination.
- Machine shop experience
- The primary work location for this position is Aliso Viejo, CA (company headquarters). However, depending on the company policy, an individual should be able to work from home if necessary (high internet)
- Relocation may be available for qualified candidates.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship.
