Clinical Specialist - Latin America
Position Overview
Provide technical, clinical and education support for all MicroVention products in Latin America. Perform didactic, hands-on technical/clinical training to hospital staff, distributors, and MicroVention associates. Provide marketing support in the region. Job duties:
- Provide technical/clinical support for all MicroVention products in a clinical setting.
- Supports product training events, conferences, and physician programs by working closely with the region’s sales management, Regional Marketing, Global Marketing, and PACE. Provide support for local workshops or tradeshows.
- Provide in-service education and training for hospital staff, distributors, and MicroVention associates.
- Attend local, regional, and national scientific meetings as well as training programs offered and stay updated on all MicroVention’s and competitive products. Lead and perform training events for product launches in the region.
- Provide feedback on the clinical performance of MicroVention products to Regional Marketing, Global Marketing, and R&D teams as appropriate.
- Interface with PACE, Clinical Research, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, and Sales to drive success of clinical programs.
- Collaborate with Regional Marketing, Global Marketing, and R&D to conduct product evaluations or evaluate clinical needs for new product development.
- Assist with the development of clinical training materials and provide support to the Regional and Global Marketing teams as needed.
- Submit periodic status updates on clinical support related activities.
- Assist Quality Assurance in analyzing and reporting on clinical performance issues.
- Assist Clinical Research and physicians in initiating and managing clinical studies and registries.
- Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum ten (10) years of interventional device business experience focused on neurovascular intervention.
- Knowledge of interventional catheterization skills, vascular anatomies, and angiographic imaging technologies.
- High level of business English skills. Ability to communicate professionally in English with hospital staff, distributors, and MicroVention associates.
- Knowledge of neurovascular and physiology.
- Understanding of medical device regulations in clinical use, promotions, and ethical codes.
- Ability and flexibility to travel to hospitals and participate in training/marketing events with a focus on the Latin America region.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong MS Office proficiency with emphasis on PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to assist with the development and maintenance of training materials.
- Ability to proficiently articulate product concepts and clinical procedures required to utilize technologies and clinical applications.
- Effective multi-tasking skills.
- Capacity to consistently meet deadlines, provide attention to detail, and work autonomously.
- Ability to effectively interface with Sales field teams, physicians, hospital staff and administration, R&D, and Marketing.
- Ability to make presentations to members of the medical and business community.
- Work experience in hospitals as a nurse or technician.
- Ability to read and understand clinical peer review papers.
- Degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
