Supervisor, Indirect Procurement - CR

Position Overview

Lead the indirect procurement activities, including supplier onboarding, lifecycle maintenance, support of end-to-end indirect procurement processes in collaboration with internal business partners. Understand business requirements to discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships. Act as the change champion for the growth and evolution of the GBS Indirect Procurement organization. Responsible for providing a consistent global process that consolidates onboarding processing and procurement support services in a cost effective, efficient, and timely manner. Responsible for leading catalog development, supplier enablement and ongoing supplier relationship management. Work with business areas to streamline supplier access, set-up, and consolidation of information within ERP system. Support the buying role in the purchase of goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company operational needs are met, and consider price, quality, and delivery, while ensuring continuity of supply. Job duties:
  • Supplier Lifecycle maintenance: supplier onboarding, ethixbase screening, supplier catalog enablement, business reviews.
  • Conduct ongoing Supplier Master maintenance.
  • Maintain and follow proper ISO procedures and GMP requirements.
  • Conduct competitor and consumer research to identify trends, consumer needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Support or lead recognizing and proposing process improvement opportunities, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders on sourcing activities to encourage diverse and preferred supplier utilization, assist internal customers in sourcing and pricing decisions.
  • Maintain all relevant supplier documentation (e.g., certificates of insurance, EH&S documents, supplier diversity certification, etc.).
  • Ensure enhanced compliance on procurement policy, communicate policies internally and externally.
  • Act as a change champion within organization with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Interface with stakeholders and suppliers on business issues.
  • Train, develop, and manage day-to-day workload for Indirect Procurement team members.
  • Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures.
  • Placement of purchase orders for indirect materials and services, including supplier follow up, receiving order confirmations, and tracking information as needed.
  • Negotiate cost savings and terms when applicable (non-contracted sources).
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders on sourcing activities to encourage diverse supplier utilization.
  • Familiar with FDA’s Supplier Controls as this role partners with Supplier Quality as it relates to Supplier Controls.
  • Supervise and provide coaching/support to Indirect Procurement and Vendor Master Management Team.
  • Develop/mentor team, provide advice and soft skills guidance; interpersonal skills and review of focus areas.
  • Perform general office responsibilities.
  • Comply with applicable Laws and Regulations, adhere to Quality Management System processes and requirements as well as demonstrate Ethics and Integrity in all matters and at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. Minimum three (3) years of experience with sourcing, procurement operations, or procurement consulting.
    3. Experience leading or managing a team
    4. Exceptional organizational and attention to detail required.
    5. Must be flexible, work schedule is US/EST.
    6. Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
    7. Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.

    4. Understanding of supplier management.
    5. Knowledge of current purchasing practices and negotiation.

    7. Demonstrable autonomy and drive to operate independently when required, bringing clear thinking and reasoning in the decision-making process.
    8. Working knowledge of ERP systems.
    9. Some project management experience.
    10. Demonstrated competencies in the sourcing of Indirect (MRO) materials and services.
    11. Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize, and report data.
    12. Self-starter: able to understand, anticipate what needs to be done and take required action.
    13. Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment to make important decisions.
    14. Ariba and SAP experience preferred.
    15. Catalog enablement and development experience highly desired.
    16. Experience working in medical device or related industry a plus.
