About Us
What We Do
We’re in business to create and deliver game-changing impact—innovations that redefine what’s possible in neuroendovascular treatment to meaningfully advance both physician practice and patient outcomes. We've pioneered the development of catheter-based, minimally invasive, neuroendovascular technologies that provide therapeutic advantages for neurovascular disorders:
Our Story
In 1997 MicroVention was founded in Southern California. In 2006, we were acquired by Terumo Corporation, and by 2024, we have seamlessly transitioned into Terumo Neuro.
From the beginning, we sought to develop and market medical devices that would improve the treatment of diseases in small blood vessels. After developing some early concepts and prototypes, our company narrowed its focus to aneurysm therapy and developed a line of implantable, detachable neuroendovascular platinum coils.
We are a worldwide community of over 3,800 engineers, chemists, marketers, manufacturers, researchers, and innovators who share the same ethos — creating technologies that provide a meaningful improvement in patient's lives.
In 2006, MicroVention was acquired by the Japan-based Terumo Corporation, and by 2024, we have seamlessly transitioned into Terumo Neuro. Terumo has provided the framework for us to operate autonomously and grow freely. Today, we have launched over 30 products and have expanded beyond cerebral aneurysms to include treatment for ischemic stroke, carotid artery disease, and neurovascular malformations.
Our Mission
Terumo Neuro is an industry leader in the creation and commercialization of ground-breaking technologies that help neurovascular surgeons preserve and restore the brain health of their patients.
Our Community
Terumo Neuro’s headquarters is located in Aliso Viejo, California, right off the 73 Freeway in the heart of Orange County—a key business hub between Los Angeles and San Diego. The cities natural landscape provides endless opportunities for exploration and adventure.
